Engineers - someone who applies science to solve concrete problems Scientists - someone who applies science to solve abstract problems (they invent new problems as well!) Programmer - someone who does all the labor, be it an abstract or concrete problem -- Weiter, weiter, ins verderben. Wir müssen leben bis wir sterben.

 I prefer to be called a Software Engineer but according to my pay slip I'm just a code monkey and subsequently get paid peanuts... :sigh:

The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone he can blame it on. If you tell a man there are 300 billion stars in the universe, he'll believe you. But if you tell him a bench has just been painted, he'll have to touch it to be sure.

Interesting tid bit... Engineer's have long since complained about Software Engineer's having the title Engineer. Other Engineer's have to be certified and therefor can be held legally liable if something were to happen to a bridge or building they engineered. Could you imagine being help personally liable for a buffer overflow in some code you wrote? Interesting to think about... - Drew
