That's news to me - I just thought it was another boring weekday. In the UK Sunday was supposed to be Mother's Day. When I was young I always remembered it to be something of a chore, and it didn't feel special in anyway. It was just "expected". :~ Personally I don't get the "xxxx Day" thing. With my family refusing to acknowledge me, it seems rather pointless. I send cards anyway, but only because I won't give up. One day I'll probably just turn up on their doorstep unannounced and say simply "remember me?". Our pastor made a point of talking about this in the service on Sunday evening, pointing out that with so many of us estranged from our birth families, our Church celebrates Family Day instead...and that all of us should consider each other as family. I wish I could send you real lovely flowers today as I normally do for my friends, I didn't remember exactly when I started doing this, but I still remember I used to pick up nice flowers in a public park in my hometown to give my girl schoolmates (as I didn't have much money at that time :)). Hopefully, today is a quite special day to you.
