Hi! Yesterday, I bought my first digital camera ever. I know its too late but I have been waiting for DSLR to get within my budget/ It's a Canon Digital Rebel XT.:-D I remember sometimes ago I saw a RAW photo editing software which had a database of different cameras and automatically omptimized photos based on the camera. I can't remember its name? Does anybody know? If not what other softwares do you recommend(well other than Photoshop and the other well known ones)? I know there are some good RAW photo editing/manipulation software out there which are not very well known. Thanks! Rob

Congrats. I too have just recently purchased the Canon Digital Rebel XT. It is an awsome camera. I have also purchased a new lens for it, the 75-300 Zoom w/Image Stabilization[^]. One of the features that I like is how fast the camera powers up which is around 1 second. Kelly Herald Software Developer MPC

That's a nice lense!! You have to get a good magnification with that lense and Rebel XT combination. Do you use it for wildlife shot? I only have the original lense that comes with the kit and also my old 28-90mm lense from the old days. Somehow, I take many macro photos, but a good zoom is appreciated. I haven't had time to take any good photos, just around the house experimenting with the camera & learning its features before taking any serious photos... By the way the software I was looking for is PhaseOne CaptureOne http://www.phaseone.com/[^]. But it doesn't support Rebel XT yet.

Well I plan to go to the mountains here in Idaho this summer. Now if the wildlife will just cooperate and not go into hiding. Kelly Herald Software Developer MPC
