I then return home at the weekend and drink very heavily on Friday and Saturday nights when I go out with friends. Sunday I have a pub lunch (again with beer) and Sunday night is the pub quiz :) What I find interesting is that the recommended weekly allowance is something like 20 units of alocohol. This amounts to 5 pints of premium lager. I calculate that in an average week I consume around 40 - 50 pints of premium lager plus wine plus spirits. Liver transplant, anyone? I don't drink much, I'm only 17. (Underage) But, I do drink once in a while... I'm not a big fan of beer... just whiskey... mmmm whiskey.

Is that excessive? I've always drunk the same ever since I was about 17. Even when I wasn't working away, I'd still either go down the local most nights and if not I'd have 4 or 5 beers watching Tv at night. Helps me to wind down. Well, me and my wife share a bottle of wine once, maybe twice, a week. I don't drink much beer but love a good bottle of wine. :-D - Anders Money talks, but all mine ever says is "Goodbye!"

Well my alcohol consumption depends on my week... I dont normally drink during the week unless : 1) I have had a really hard day and need one or two to wind down 2) I have made a really nice meal that just screams for a nice Cabernet Sauvignon 3) Friends are coming over to watch the Hockey Game...then it is unavoidable to drink beer... Weekends are another story all together....usually out at least one night (usually Saturday) with all my friends having probably 1 or 2 too many.... :cool:

I don't like beer so much, find it doesn't taste so good... However, mixed drinks are good, as well as Smirnoff Ice... have any of you tried it?? Quite yummy. It's Vodka and lemonade, or another fruit. Made some at home before too. Although, it doesn't take much for me to feel tipsy! Even though my uncle made me taste whiskey when I was like... 13! You would think that my tolerance would increase over the years... Maybe a couple more years, since I'm only 21.... But I blame my low tolerance on my small frame and Asian blood (I turn red pretty fast :)) Melissa

I don't like beer so much, find it doesn't taste so good... However, mixed drinks are good, as well as Smirnoff Ice... have any of you tried it?? Quite yummy. Hee hee hee... actually I know a couple of my girl friends that absolutely LOVE beer and it's taste :P This one girl drinks 3 or 4 before going to class!!! It's like water for her...! I don't drink because I am a Christian ( yes, I know you didn't want anyone to say that ), but another person at work doesn't drink at all either, because he doesn't like to feel that he is losing control of himself. Watching some of the guys who DO drink at various functions, I can see that. What I found funny was the time the person most likely to be mortally offended if I were to present my religious views in general to him, following us around in a drunken stupour insisting to both of us that we should get drunk. I'm not sure why it is I should feel the need to keep my views to myself, but it's OK for him to pressure us to kill brain cells.
