hehehhe Sad thing is that you would probably be sued for asking this :) Tends to lean a bit on the applicant's political affiliations and is not really allowed. It is kind of like asking an applicant if they are a Democrat or a Republican. You can do it after they are hired but not before.

Eh, i'm that idiot who's out skating in 100+F days, and relaxing in a snow bank on <0F days. I park in the front row or the back - either way, my car is left alone.

This is one of the suggestions to programmers to get enough daily exercise...park in a differnt spot each day and then you will get plenty...walking up and down the rows looking for your car because you forgot where you parked it  :-D Steve

That is about the extent of my foreign language ability.... I may not fully remember the beer order also, I never actually used it. I also learned another sentance in german from an Air Force maintenance tech, but I never used that either and probably never will. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. I am trying to come up with a set of questions that will form the initial screening round for all candiates at our company. Any thoughts about questions/concepts that should defintely be known by any programmer?

It's allowed here and probably always will be. However, what stops the person from lying? My last employer asked someone if they were Catholic once... I almost fell out of my seat in that interview. It's a good thing she didn't know that was innapropriate, but you could sure see she was uncomfortable. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. Which makes asking the question a bit of a waste of time It is, per se. but if you ever find out otherwise, one of the employment clauses is "termination for lying on your application," so if you ask the question, and they lie, then you have grounds for immeadiate termination. Thus it might be a waste of time up front, but if investigation turns up something later, rapid termination is now legal. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. He'd go further to say that with the proper attitude and mind-set a person can be taught almost anything. His concern and his praise was rarely based on aptitude. His reviews always praised and focused on developing attitude. He rewarded very generously for attitude. He had a quip I really liked. "I can improve your aptitude and therefore I should get the raise. Only you can improve your attitude for which I will give you a raise." Good Philosophy and his mileage didn't vary. It was outstanding. To this day he continues to be a mentory. Smart Man he was, strong in the force was he. ;P (Did I really just type that? How embarrassing.)
