I've just tried it today for a couple of hours (the Pre-Release Version with VA 5.0 Beta installed). After ~ 10 times of bloody frozen UI while I was playing with the new UI bars (explores like the ClassView) in a simple MFC 7.0 sample I gave up... maybe it's better to wait for the SP3 to start anything seriously. anyone here got a different experience ?

Which version are you using? I'm using it every day and each build has been getting better and better. PDC was a little flaky, beta 1 not too bad, beta 2 much better and the release candidates great. Still the occasional moment of flakiness but it's very rare (at least for me) in the latest versions. cheers, Chris Maunder

Hey, again that confusing letters "VS.NET". That must be something that is somehow connected to the mysterious soda-drink manufacturer called "Microsoft". Until now, no one really knows who they are and what they really do. Maybe they are aliens.... FEAR!!!!! -- See me: www.magerquark.de

          I haven't tried it. I did try KDevelop and hated it though. -:suss:Matt Newman:suss: -:suss:Matt Newman:suss: -Sonork ID: 100.11179:BestSnowman

Mike I thought I'd better warn you. Paul is coming up with a scheme of figuring out which articles take up maximum bandwidth on CP and he and chris have some very shady plans of charging the article authors for this bandwidth. I guess you'd be top on the hit list :-) Nish Sonork ID 100.9786 voidmain www.busterboy.org If you don't find me on CP, I'll be at Bob's HungOut

It's not like everybody does. I won't put MS beta stuff on my system, and I'm unconvinced of the value in "upgrading" to anything.NET at this point, so it may be a year or so before that software is on my system.

lol, not *that* PDC release. PDC 2001 or RC0/1 depending on who you ask :) I'm not rich enough to even go to PDC, but rather than confuse people on the RC issue I used that as a milestone; forgetting all about the tech preview you rich people got in 2000 ;P So which should I call it? RC 0 or RC 1? According to MS its really RC 0, but most people call it RC 1; except for those that know MS calls it RC 0... X| James Sonork ID: 100.11138 - Hasaki

Microsoft Development Enviroment 2002 ver 7.0.9372 Micorsoft .NET Framework 1.0 ver 1.0.3328 you know, I've tried just to create an new project (MFC/ATL) with the new wizard and I've been locked several times (UI Frozen with 0 CPU cycles) playing with all the new views like classview, project explorer and the wizard bar (just to get in touch with the lost of the classwizard). Do you have the VA 5.0 installed ? Are you using it to develop some ATL/MFC code ?

I would have thought that a build that new would be quite stable. I've not tried VA with VS .NET, but maybe there are issues with VA and different builds of the IDE (Microsoft making tiny changes and the poor guys at WholeTomato racing around trying to keep up to date with the all). Have you tried emailing WholeTomato software? cheers, Chris Maunder
