Gary, IF you use Paint SHop Pro 9 already, you should upgrade to Corel Paint Shop Pro X. It comes with Corel Photo Album 6 standard edition. They really did a great job making the interface easy to use. You can check out the info on PSP X here[^]. I use PSP for importing RAW images from a Canon Powershot S50 and it works well. I've been getting the upgrade offers for PSP X, and downloaded the trail. However, does the Photo album software do versioning? i.e. If I import the RAW (PSP does not support NEF, or it didn't work with my coolpic 5700, not tried the D70s yet) and convert to JPG, does the album software allow me to stack / group / combine in some way, the original and all versions I have produced from it? The standard version of Photo Album don't do versioning. Not sure about the deluxe version. The album software lets you group images by folders. I'm not sure if that's what you meant. Brigg Thorp Senior Software Engineer Timex Corporation

really?? hmmmm that is odd... since I use it regularly. I shoot nothing but RAW and then convert to jpeg at the computer. There is something odd with my PSPX install that I am still hashing out, but I use one of the RAW browsers/editors that comes with it every time I take a photo. Now PSP9 required a patch to do a preload exposure choice before loading the image in. It did not do 16bit color. PSP X now does D70s, after 2 patches to 10.02. As much as I like PSP (I've upgraded and paid for the last 3 or 4 versions at least), I just played with RawShooter (comes with PSP X, or maybe with Photo Album) and it produces nicer images. One of my friends likes DIM[^], and as anti-java as I am, it does pretty much what I want as far as copying files is concerned (directory creation based on EXIF photo taken date). No, what I mean is: I have an original (say xxxx.jpg), and make an edit, it should automatically create xxxx-1.jpg and only show me this on the browser (unless I ask to see a different version). Apple Apeture does what I want, but I program PCs for a living .. Gary Flickr Photos[^]

ahh, that is the one (without having to go home to see, which is the only way my memory works). That is what I am using right now. I could get better images out of PSP X, but it took longer, RAW shooter could do as good, easier and faster. I could get better images out of PSP X, but it took longer, RAW shooter could do as good, easier and faster. I think that will be the way I go.. 1. Use DIM (or roll my own) to copy the NEF files (to my RAW tree) 2. Use Rawshooter to process the NEFs and Create the JPGs 3. Do my organization of JPGs in Photoshop Elements (have it use PSP as it's editor). 4. Use the flickr uploader for sending to flickr 5. Some other manual process for my other stuff ...
