Meet the new kid on the block.. The D programming language home page Code listing on Dr. Dobb's Journal (Feb/2002) Though the language was born a little over 2 years ago, I first saw its spec. on DDJ (Feb/2002 issue) yesterday. Anybody has heard of this before? The language seems to me a mixture of Java/C# and C++. What do you think? // Fazlul

I think we have enough languages and technologies for the next 5 years. The last thing Microsoft would want now is some kind of C++/Java clone arriving on the scene. I think instead of trying J2EE/Sun One and all that stuff, all the anti-MS people had to do was release some new language that is kinda between java and C++ and say that it's better than C# I feel this cause C# is a bigger hit among the masses than even .NET. Excelent Link, That guy has "added" some real kewl features, I'd love to see a project like this be developed even more. Fazlul Kabir wrote: The language seems to me a mixture of Java/C# and C++. What do you think? I don't know anything about Java, To me it looks like an improved C++, And MS must have copied some of his ideas for C# as well. :-) Regardz Colin J Davies
