When I see a title like that I always wonder if they are talking about a C#/VB.NET developer or an ASP.NET developer (now I understand that ASP.NET cannot exist by itself and does need C#/VB in there.)

A .NET developer would be a generic term for anyone coding for the CLR. His language of choice wouldn't matter I guess. Regards, Nish

While I see your point, it probably does matter to the company. It wouldn't make sense if all their apps were written in C#, except for one writen in VB.NET which was started by the new guy.
