XP Home VS2003 install problem
-
My last laptop died, so I just got a new one, that unfortunately has XP Home (SP2) on it instead of professional. Anyway, when I try to install VS 2003 on it, I get a message stating something like: "Setup has detected that another program requires the computer to reboot. You must reboot the computer before installing VS.NET Prerequisites. Once the system reboots, you need to restart setup. Click OK to reboot. Click Cancel to exit installer and install later." I've tried everything, I've clicked OK to reboot automatically, I've clicked cancel to exit and reboot manually, I've installed every single windows update item about 5 reboots ago or so. I'll get the message even if it's the only thing I try to do after rebooting. Any idea what the heck is going on? This is very frustrating, one of the reasons for getting this laptop was so I could get something done away from my main workstation. ----- In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

Gah! I feel like an idiot, I searched quite a bit on here but didn't even think to search the MS KB. Thanks! ----- In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

I didn't search the MS KB either, but I did a google with "KB" as an extra search parameter :-) And you are welcome. Regards, Nish
