I see lots of discussions over every week. What should we be discussing? _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. Talk about things of tomorrow and the mice in the ceiling laugh. (Japanese Proverb)

It usually slows down around this time of night. A few hours from now all the people in GB will wake up and start posting lots of stuff. :)

That's because there's a fine line here between noise and sense of community responsibility. Lace that with a good helping of double-standard (regular and long standing members can get away with most anything, newbies get grilled like steak) and people are careful to post.

I cannot tell if I'm newbie or long standing. I try to post about 50% community responsibility and 50% hell with it I'm on the MIC and I'm going off. I think I get more 5's when I just fire at will than when I try to be responsible but the voting is totally rigged. Dudes in Florida always win regardless.

So if you want some chatter you have a few options. Say something to inspire ire in John Simmons, discover a VS 2005 bug post it here and inspire ire in everyone else or go for the bland "this is my latest flickr moment".

Of course you could always look up peoples last names in a dictionary and try to find a cruel but humorous relationship between what they do for a living and your devious definition then post it here.

Just be careful though. We are a picky lot and will vote you down if we feel like it. But the voting is rigged anyway so who cares.

Tell you what, download the latest copy of AOL then post here and tell all of us what you think of it. That should inspire some comments. Combine it with praise for Lotus Notes and you just might become an overnight sensation.

Those posts irk me, I can’t visit fickr at work (it’s a blocked website) and by the time I get home I forget which post it was that I was going to check out. Besides once I get home I have work to do.

Hey, he wanted some conversation. If I tell him to put a gun to his head and pull the trigger and he does then well... That's his problem. It would certainly inspire a comment or two but if he were to praise Lotus Notes I'm sure there would be a public demand to ban his IP.

If he realy ran Notes we wouldn't have to worry about him posting. Recovering from Notes crashs is a full time job. :)

It's kind of a mix of both. You've not been around that long...but you're crazy enough that we all know you. So you're in the middle phase. One of these days you'll just be lumped in with all the rest of the old timers. ;P

I figure it like this. If you hide you'll never meet anyone. If you charge in like you are God you'll meet a few and run off the rest. I'm trying to be active and participate while being thoughtful and careful as much as possible when I can say something that will help. My one flaw is that I reply even if I'm tired or hungry. My blood sugar is about as stable as VS 2005 form's designer so I should really eat before replying. I'm also groggy as all heck at the moment and should go to bed. In fact I think I will. I should never post this tired. I'll either be hot-tempered or I'll wax philosophic. Either of which is clearly not me at my best.:sigh:

I like the crazy idea though watching my son at play he has to be getting it from somewhere.

Oh by all means. Enjoy!!! Don't hold back anything except the pickles but pile on the onions. Yes, sad to say I'm really wanting a Quizno's Black Angus with extra onions at the moment. :(( But it's bed time... So I'll have to wait.:^)

I wasn't too sure about you at first. But you've proved yourself to be an interesting and valuable member of the CodeProject community. So I'll enjoy the humour this post rather than getting annoyed with the content and voting you down for taking the piss out of the CPian clique :-D Michael CP Blog [^] Development Blog [^]

Most probably, because it's Republic Day in India, so it's a holiday there :-) India has the 2nd highest number of members on CP after the US. [mod]at least it was so when the demographics page was last alive[/mod] Regards, Nish

No, only the idiots with a false sense of authority and power use the voting system.

I think I'm one of the most famous (or infamous) people here on CP. Maybe all future registrations should be approved by me so that we can raise the IQ back to its prior glorious level.

It's kind of a mix of both. You've not been around that long...but you're crazy enough that we all know you. So you're in the middle phase. One of these days you'll just be lumped in with all the rest of the old timers. ;P
