Wiki recommendations

I'm looking to set up a wiki for Awasu and am after some recommendations. I had a play with some of them a while back and they were all really basic and somewhat lacking in features. I need: - to require users to create accounts (preferably with verified email addresses, preferably with multiple levels of permissions). - the ability to email an administrator when a page has been changed. - the ability to see what's been changed. - the ability to back out changes (we already have a big problem with spam). - the ability to set up pages with some common elements that can't be edited (e.g. corporate banner and footer, navbar, etc). - the ability to upload files (optional). - preferably uses PHP (optionally with MySQL). - be secure (of course). - free is good :-) Any suggestions?

If you don't mind paying, have a look at Confluence (sorry, don't have a link ATM). From what I rememeber, it covers all your requirements there.

It looks nice enough but licensing is done per seat. We want to open up the wiki to the Awasu users so something like that isn't going to work.

Oh, I wasn't aware of that... I was just a user at work, after all ;) I can see the problem :(

I'm looking at setting up a Wiki for one of my projects. For what I want I'll probably be going for phpWiki, as it looks rather nice. However, a site that was useful for me in deciding what to go with is WikiMatrix[^] - it's a comparison site of a whole bunch of Wiki engines, allowing you to compare what each provide. Not sure how up-to-date it is at the moment, tho'.
