If you can teach English well, teach me. If not so, I can come to Mumbai for learning English at good Academy. mala maithi (toda) இந்த ேசட்டதான் ஆகாதூ தம்பி

I may be wrong but.... I have found that guys who have been given primary education in english medium are better speaker in english than those who have been .. in their mother toungue. they have better command and more words, fluency, confidence. Here in india convent educated guys are very fluent . Other who just took their education in their own language are always lagging in communication even they are brilliant. They never get the confidence eventhey may be able to speak adequately. that thing remains in their mind that we are not upto it. So does that mean we can never match those convent educated guys? rkumar
That's a fairly broad generalisation there. cheers, Chris Maunder

In general, those who get a head start would be a little ahead of the others, but there would always be exceptions. Non-native speakers who read (and write) are usually better at language and grammar than those who don't. Watching English-language movies and TV might help, but reading would be better - and when I say read, I don't really mean Archie comics. Regards, Nish

I believe we are all products of our environments. Meaning, if one was raised by well educated english speaking parents, then one's grammer, diction and vocabulary will reflect one's environment.
But if one is raised in a family where eubonics is the dominate language or southern slang or new england dribble ... then ... well 'nuff-said y'all. FlashMerlot

Well, that would stand to reason

In English ? Possibly. I guess the big question is, how often does this matter ? I can say from experience that lots of Indians who cannot speak English have no trouble getting work in call centres, I can't see why they'd have trouble getting work in places where speaking English actually doesn't matter..... Excellent observation, and a great reason to refuse to do business with companies who use them. "...a photo album is like Life, but flat and stuck to pages." - Shog9

That would work, if there were companies that DIDN'T use them. I recently had a spate of issues that had me calling several different companies in the space of a few days. Even when I called a company in Australia ( that is, with local support ), not one person I spoke to had English as a first language.
