I'd take Hefner's life, Gates's house, Hubble telescope, International Space Station, Alexandria Library and add to that research in mathematics, astronomy, archaelogy, geology, and deep sea life (whateverology).

Techies enjoy a better standard of living than many, and we get paid to do what we enjoy. Still, most people have goals, dreams and desires of a better life, even if they don’t believe it’s possible to achieve them. If you could wave a magic wand, what (non-technical) things would you change to make your life better? Author of The Career Programmer and Unite the Tribes

Other people. Buncha twisted, scheming, perverted hypocrites. And Bloody Marys. Not enough bartenders know how to make 'em right. Hmmm... other people into Bloody Marys... Oh - and cigarettes would give you super-human endurance instead of reduced lung capacity. Myself. 'Cause it wouldn't be fair to all the people i'd fixed to have to put up with an imperfect me. But i'd wait until after i'd enjoyed a few perfect Bloody Marys and nutritional cigs first...

Rid the world of Celine Dion. All religious groups get along. Have the money and looks of Catherine Zeta Jones. (Before anyone freaks, I'm a girl.) A winter home in Australia. Hard to explain... there's just something delightfully wrong about going hiking and then stopping off for a bloody mary and a cigarette. Kinda like going for a cheeseburger and milkshake after a visit to the dentist...

The question wasn't about followers it was about magic wands. In any case, cooperation isn't collectivism. People can work together in their own self interest without being a collective. "You get that which you tolerate"

It's sprite ( which I would call lemonade ), lime cordial and bitters. IT's very nice. I managed to get ONE between my two trips to the USA, and an assortment of very strange things, even after I worked out that in the USA, lemonade is lemon cordial. I would book all the first class seats for all flights everywhere, and allow anyone who is a software developer to move from stinky cramped coach seats into the first class seats for free!
