It's perfectly ok with me. :) Besides, I am sure in some countries (like Korea) gaming gets more attention then - lets say - archery.

sh$ts, when sh$t like this is considered. http://www.ggl.com/news.php?NewsId=3196[^]:wtf: I will be away for the next 2 years while i practice my "sitting on the couch" technique, preparing for the olympics. i'm also competing in the: - middle finger b-button flick - left-handed crouch grab.

You don't see a WTF in spawning hundreds of threads ?? Or using code found on places like codeproject.com in production applications ... Code that is most likely untested, or barely test, more often than not, not made by reputable developers/development groups/etc ?? .... Wow ...---WTF

Ahh, I can see this since Poker is now considered a sport (well at least here in the USA.) This just makes me  when I turn on the tv looking for football or even baseball and find 4 channels of Poker all on at the same time.

To be olympic quality, people have to seriously dedicate part of their lives to this. So, the main problem I see with this is at least with traditional sports, they promote physical activity which is one factor of a healthy lifestyle. If you're *promoting* a life-long dedication of being lazy, well I just don't know. I'd be more for this if they'd make the gamers have to run on a treadmill while competing/playing.

While the Olympics may have started with the best of intentions, it is now a marketing machine where cities take turns being bamboozled by the various Olympic Committees and, occasionally, whatever television network got suckered into thinking they could actually make money televising it. The problem is, of course, that most the events in the current Olympics are idiotic and nobody wants to waste time watching them. And nobody really does care about John Doe from country X and how he sacrificed everything so he could do some dumb-ass sport. Ultimately, you can blame a handful of cities like Los Angeles and Salt Lake City that have actually made money at the con, while most have lost their shorts.

Have the gamers use a stationary bike to generate the electricity for their gaming device they are playing to compete with. They tire and wimp out... BAM! Game Over slacker you loose. :-D
