Hi folks! Does anybody have news about Windows Vista? I can't found any references about it, was it delayed again? Or it was discontinued by Microsoft? What about rumors related to .NET 3.0? Does Microsoft has some plans about it? Should I start learning C#? Also, I heard long time ago rumours that Microsoft will release a new version of IE browser, what did you know about such thing? ... But hey, it's Friday today! Who should care about all this stuff??:laugh::laugh: I hope nobody will go angry seeing this post...

It was RTM'ed yesterday. It should appear on MSDN within days (probably today friday since there's a scheduled downtime). .NET 3.0 has also been released and can be downloaded. The new Internet Explorer was released a couple of weeks ago (IE7), and it's good. Seriously man, where have you been hiding?:laugh:

They're not using "year versions" anymore. It presents a problem when the name is finalized, for example, Office 2006, and the released date slips into 2007! :-D

Probably, because they don't intend to release IE 8 anytime soon. I explain: marketing people often put the year on the name of a product so the salesmen have one more argument "see, it's 2007 and you still are using Windows 2003 Server - you are 4 years late when compared to your competitors that bought our product". It may seem stupid, but it works. This assumes you'll release a product soon, or it can backfire: "It's 2010 and MS still didn't release another IE".

From the Churchdown Parish Magazine: "Would the Congregation please note that the bowl at the back of the Church, labelled 'For The Sick,' is for monetary donations only."
