What do you think is the state of the Web Services market(assuming there is one) right now and the near future? I know I know if I wanted case studies I could've went to Microsoft(which had case studies of .NET implementations in Multi-billion dollar companies 8 months before .NET's release), but then again I am trying to get a realistic feal of current situation. I just cant see it being used considering that standard security details are yet to be addressed.

Your question is definitly hard to answer. I can say from working in a manufacturing area that web services over the next few years is going to be a major effort. The interest being taken by mid level managers is very high. Now keep in mind that that is the last group before things actually start to happen. Low level people are closer to the workers and then high level start to believe in magic, followed by the mid level who are accountable for the high level people's happiness. Now most of that does not involve much of a market (or to be truthfull .NET) To be conscious that you are ignorant of the facts is a great step towards Knowledge. Benjamin Disraeli
