I noticed some people got awarded CodeProject MVP. What are the benefits of being an MVP and how do you get to be an MVP?

Well, it seems like nobody is giving you straight answer. Do you get the CP newsletter? It pretty much says it all there: We started The Code Project to help Visual Studio developers with their day to day programming. The articles you read and the answers to your questions on the message boards are all provided by our members. We would like to acknowledge the help of those who, through message votes and article ratings, have been chosen by our readers as the Most Valuable CodeProject.com members of 2006: etc. Marc

No, no, it's me who offers a huge thank you for an undeserved award. I hadn't checked my email until a short time ago and saw the newsletter. Surely there has been some mistake.

I think you have to be a nice guy/girl or something... ;-)

Chris, I'm not saying this because I missed out on an MVP this year (Moving job and house takes its toll on the free time one has, so I didn't expect one this year), but this guy[^] who has one article and 31 posts in total is just taking the micky. I know all a CodeProject MVP confers is bragging rights, but even that has to be worth something and the bestowment of an MVP on the aforementioned person just cheapens the whole thing, IMHO.

God like powers? The best part is there is no way to prove whether or not the MVP's have been bestowed with God-like powers because no one personally knows God nor the true definition of God like powers.
