Josh, does Firebug interfere with your keypresses when you aren't using it? I've got something freaky going on in FF because if I try and type in most text-boxes the focus is thrown to Firefox's Find textbox. If I disable Firebug or launch Firebug in a seperate window, it stops doing that. (And yeah, got v1.0 Gold RTM Non-Beta etc.)

I've never seen that. Are you using some sort of bizarre, Irish keyboard, that requires mashing the palms of your hands across keyboard quadrants? (F12 opens the console, that's the only Firebug shortcut i ever use)

Paul, check your CO2 emissions they seem a little high. Could be why firebug is choking up. Also, you might look for the algoreplug algore-plugin I hear it fixes the problem by improving your sampling rates over the course of 650,000 CPU cycles.:laugh::badger::laugh:

I thought I was being clever and got voted a 2.0. It was either worthy of a 1.0 or a 5.0 but a 2.0 is like... blah...:sigh::laugh:

Well then, it should be obvious - you're supposed to use the mouse, not the keyboard! :rolleyes:

Hah! I'm a 2.7 now! Yes, no longer confined to the hades of 2.0. Moving on up! To the top! I'm heading for a future that's so high. Moving on up!:jig:

As high as the CO2 levels? ;P

C'mon man pull me up? I'm working my way through med school!:->:rolleyes:

I had that happening too. I fixed it by disabling 'search for text when I start typing' in FireFox, as I think it was clashing with a plugin (possibly FireBug).
hhmmm thanks Johnny, that seems to have helped. Though I tried that with the previous version and it didn't help so didnt try it with v1.0. Man, that was an annoying conflict.

I get this. It was driving me nuts to the point of considering giving up Firefox (there's a very similar bug with the quickfind key). In the end I just disabled each addin until the problem went away.

Yeah, though Firebug has become a very important tool in my development work. Thankfully the FF find-type setting seems to have sorted it out without having to disable Firebug.

That happens to me now and then and I don't have Firebug. I just turn off the "begin finding..." option, finish the page then turn it back on. It doesn't happen often enough to really be annoying...
