Where does one turn off the automatic windows update under w2k? It keeps popping up everyday, and what is in the update list is IE6 :~ (running IE5 dont want no bleeding IE6) Wimp X| (last time i installed it the whole system got f**ed up!) .NET runtimes :omg: (.NOT) None of theses seems really critical to me...maybe to M$ (specially the .NET part) And i cant even find where to turn off the damn thing. Get a software-based firewall and block it. Either Zonealarm or Tiny Personal Firewall are good. Simon Q: Why didn't Intel call the Pentium the 586? A: Because they added 486 and 100 on the first Pentium and got 585.999983605. Sonork ID 100.10024

It seems like a rather brute option, it must be someway to turn it off. I have a vauge memory of me turning it on sometime in the past. But i have zonealerm, so i'll block until i find the option.

The rumours that I am an AI bot are absolutely false. These rumours have been propogated by *them* to focus all the attention on to me, while *their* bots take over the planet. Thank y%%%% Divide by zero. Cannot proceed. Abort(y/y)?

Thats for Win2K and 98. With XP, it's part of the basic OS and cannot be uninstalled :( Nish
