Well whilst you enjoy your weekend, and I hope you do, spare a thought as to why exactly we have a weekend, it was a "struggling social movement" of my forefathers.

Not quite true. The vast majority of Americans have always had sundays off thanks to Christianity. Saturdays were finally included so that people could have more time to spend their money - thanks to capitalism. Nothing to do with socialism at all.
