Are there integrated UML Tools in the Visual Studio? I am currently reading "C# and the .NET Platform" book by Andrew Troelsen and there is a screenshot of UML tools in the VS.NET Toolbox tab (page 49 or Fig. 1- 30). I searched for this and could not find it - using VS.NET Architect version. Anyone seen this and knows how to enable it? Best regards, Paul. With Beta 1/2 there were some UML tools distributed with it; but then MS acquired Visio so that was put in its place. AFAIK Visio didn't integrate with the IDE like the previous UML product. James

MS Visio is integrated with VS.NET. But I am afraid that happens only in the Enterprise Architect version. Best regards, Alexandru Savescu

I have the Architect version, there is no integration. Visio is launched as a separate program - there is not Visio tab in the VS.NET Toolbox. This is similar to the support in VS 6.0. I have Visio Prof and was using it with VS 6.0 before buying VS.NET Architect version, and there is no difference. Best regards, Paul. Yes you are right. I misunderstood what you meant by integration. Best regards, Alexandru Savescu

Have a look at Rational's XDE. Cheers, Simon "Every good work of software starts by scratching a developer's personal itch.", Eric S. Raymond

I haven't read that book, but Rational XDE (.NET edition) integrated with VS.NET. Highly recommended. /Jonas Eklöf

Yes, but with the $3,595 price tag, it is more expensive than the VS.NET itself :(( Best regards, Paul. Jesus Christ is LOVE! Please tell somebody.
