.22LR sounds a bit to Alpha version to me. I'd at least wait for the .99RC before ordering. The last thing you want is the disappointment of Christmas misfire.:)

My nephew has several of those! Actually only one in the .22LR. He also has the .22 mag, .17HR, .45 (I can't believe they make this one), and at least one more I can't remember. They are cool rifles. Of course he's only 4 years old, so none of them have been fired yet...

"Peace on earth" is a failed/abandoned project, and the source code is no longer available because that POS we all know as SourceSafe crashed AGAIN. In lieu of finding a reasonably recent backup, I asked for a gun.

While it's entirely possible to take down a deer with a .22, it would be much harder to do because of shot placement. Besides, Bambi's been dead a long time.

Why, yes, yes it can little man. So my advice is to not ride your BigWheel onto a shooting range while the adults are practicing. For what it's worth, if I was going to "kill people", I certainly wouldn't advertise it here, and I'd probably use something with a bit more punch. Sure - a 22 will bounce around inside you before it kills you, but it would more than likely give you a chance to fight back before your newly swiss-cheesed innards decided to quit working. If you're really interested in preventing somebody from getting up, I'd use a 9mm or maybe even a 45. You must have missed the post I made a few months ago about taking up competitive shooting. This is just another class of competition called "Cowboy Lever-Action". The gun used for the competition must be a lever-action rifle in the appropriate caliber (in my case, .22LR), and can only have open sights (no scopes allowed). All shooting is done offhand - standing, and without a sling, etc. BTW, it's okay not to like guns or want one of your own. But given that I live in the US, I'm well within my constitutional rights to own them, to defend my right to own them, and to not give a rat's ass how you feel about it.

I have a whole garage full of dangerous tools, and I slipped on water on our tile floor last night and almost killed myself in the fall. Maybe we should get rid of water, too. :) (This guy is why I don't talk here about the other guns I have that are intended for home defense. That would probably scare the crap out of most people. All of my guns are locked up in a gun safe that's bolted to my garage floor, except for a couple of 9mm pistols I have strategically placed around the house.)

True I guess. I don't know the first thing about guns, you're better off talking to my uncle and his sons. He's a hunter in the pure meaning of the word. Big game and all that. But that was years ago. I'd love to get into it TBH. I just can't get myself to make the time to actually get things started.

LOL I think my dad is just starting it for him for an investment type thing. Neither me or my brother or my dad really hunt. Maybe once every few years. I guess he'll be ready for the 2nd civil war...
