I saw the initial post yesterday and ignored it thinking it wouldn't amount to anything. Then this morning (EST) I saw your mention of this - and I just got back from reading the thread ! LOL What a blast ! What an utter moron. Really, if there were a way to get email alerts to this sort of thing in the future it would be great, just for the humor involved ! Wish I'd paid closer attention yesterday !

Should I set up an email subscription alert for these occurances? Honestly though - how can you not love Bill. There's never a dull moment when he turns up and he certainly knows how to stir up people when he needs to. cheers, Chris Maunder Rub your belly and pat your head simultaneously. Is there such an RFC? Looking at RFC index on http://www.garlic.com/~lynn/rfcietf.htm it appears that the highest RFC is 3295 ??? Have fun, Paul Westcott.

That's the advantage of the slashdot system. When people continually post rubbish, they get moderated down, and when they get negative mod points (called karma), their posts start defaulting to a level below the normal visable threshold -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit!

Obviously I don't know the man well enough to hate him properly, but I've known a number of his ilk, and visited his website. His personality is pure promoter, like the jerks in Marketing who promise the customer a technological breakthrough by lunchtime Tuesday without consulting the engineer who has to implement it. I'd be willing to bet that he actually does sell, and if you have a product to sell you probably could do much worse than have him promote it. It would be an interesting experiment. I wonder what he could do with a couple thousand copies of Nish's book:-) It might become a best-seller... I Drowned Schroedinger's Stupid Cat!
