I have no pity at all for him. He made a conscious decision to abuse narcotics, and he died as a result. It's lucky for society that he did. Otherwise, we'd all be footing the bill for his many "recoveries".

No way. I really liked some of his films. That's just crazy. It's apparently drug-related. No surprise there I guess. Sad.

Did he? Where'd you read that? So far there are no details on the drugs involved in his death.

Is anyone in the entertainment industry not on drugs? We loose more actors that way. This guy had some talent too. He's the Joker in the new batman movie.

That's what I want to know. I am a bit angry that his death is drug related. Why can't it be an accident on the set or something honorable. Blah.

Let's face it, there's 95% chance that it's the case that he was abusing drugs, and they killed him.

Brokeback Mountain. Unfortunately most of his other work is frivolous tripe (Brothers Grimm etc.) Seems he was manufactured by the industry and only managed to do his own thing a few times in his short life.

I respect him for his role in Brokeback Mountain. Took a lot of guts to go from high school pinup to gay cowboy. The rest of his work that I know was poor though, manufactured industry crap. Otherwise I have no idea what he was like as a person outside his films.

Brokeback Mountain. Unfortunately most of his other work is frivolous tripe (Brothers Grimm etc.) Seems he was manufactured by the industry and only managed to do his own thing a few times in his short life.

BBM wasn't? Can't remember if i watched the whole thing or not, but i sure don't remember it being anything exceptional. Except for the damn soundtrack - talk about an ear-worm. I know, i know - it got a ton of press, but it was essentially the same old chick-flick "infidelity and mind-fuck is ok 'cause is true love" or some such.

That is sad. Not nice to hear of anyone taking their own life. I thought Brokeback Mountain was superb and he did an amazing job in it. The rest of his work is forgettable though.
