I've got a cold too, and I suspect I've got it at work. I don't feel extremely bad, anyway. I'm doing some stuff here and there, listening to music, programming... almost a vacation.

It's half term here so I've got the kids at home as well. A vacation may be pushing it a bit, but better than a 2 hour commute each way anyway.

Ah man, that sucks. Keep warm, tons of chicken soup and down as much OJ as you can, that stuff will do wonders for any cold. Get well soon mate :)

Cold Of The Year Not had a cold for nearly 2 years, then some selfish moronic retard decides he would 'work through his' sittng next to me. His justificatoin - I might as well get paid for being ill at work instead of being ill at home. His going to cost me at least two days pay. I'm still doing 'design' work for them, so they might see fit to pay me. I ranted about this the last time somebody who I worked with decided to cough snot and plegm everywhere opposite me. Our company just recently brought in a policy so that even if you have the slightest sniffle you have to wear these 5c surgical masks. Annoying as hell, but they sure encourage you not to work through your cold. Hope you feel better soon

Did you talk to your manager and/or HR dept about this? They should have a policy in place for this stuff. He's not just coding you time, but the company money.

A zinc lozenge every three hours will reduce the severity and duration of the cold. Only zinc lozenges made with zinc gluconate or zince acetate are effective. Avoid citrus drinks within an hour of taking a zinc lozenge.

Is there a point system involved with this? I could see this becoming quite the fun office game.

I might just do that - I blamed him tongue in cheek, but actually that guy may have cost me two days work, which, like you said, not only affects me, but the project as a whole. That, coupled with the fact I really don't like him, means I might just knock on HRs door when I get back.

Nothing more offensive than a child coughing right into my face. Never considering to turn his head or cover his mouth. Probably the biggest insult someone can render.

AFAIK people are most contagious before they exhibit any symptoms, that's the genius of the cold and flu virus. By the time they come into work with a runny nose and coughing they are no longer contagious.
