I am not wasting time. I am here, because all our Indian friends post programming questions (coding doubts or whatever you call it) here in the lounge.

It is not a big rocket science and is a very common thing in India. People loiter around everywhere flirting with the friends of opposite sex in the cafeteria and restaurants till the 23rd hour and then rush up to make some fancy things trading off quality.

Well - this at least puts some perspective on some events. My employer hired a contractor to develop a database and some software - who proceeded to contract it out to India. Let's just sum up the quality/insight (=results) as best descirbed by a long loud flushing sound.

I think there is no greatness in answering to mediocre questions in the forums. I lurk around in the forums everyday and should admit that the quality of questions that are being asked in the forums has deteriorated. I very rarely ask a question there. I am not an expert in coding, but I can see most of the questions that are being asked there is either a simple one, the one that could be solved by putting a little effort, or the questions that have been asked a number of times already.

Well, I can only say that, no matter what question you ask in forums, you still find necessary help in there ( unless the question does not comply according to the rules of the forum ;) ).

          Regards, Vijay.

Highly reputed companies does not necessarily have highly talented people. I've seen quite a bunch of people working on multi-nationals, who did not even know the basics of object oriented programming. I remember nailing a guy by asking counter-questions who interviewed me on OOP. It was fun. And oh yeah, that was a multi-national company and the guy is a team leader. Needless to say, I did not join them.

Actually, I am English, I just live in France, and work in Belgium. But, with two exceptions, I learnt every thing myself. Its what Engineers do, they sit down, think about it, read about it, gather every shred of info they can get on the matter, and then solve the problem. To give up at the first difficulty, and ask a forum is so weak. Do you have no pride? No self reliance? No ambition to be good at your job?
