Has CodeProject been hacked?
-
I am just wondering if CodeProject has been hacked? There seems to be a couple of articles with two authors, including this http://www.codeproject.com/KB/selection/Asp.Net_Sample_Resume_.aspx[^] by Chris Maunder and someone else... I did not realise two people could author the same article?

The issue here, is that when you publish an article, you can provide the user ids of your co-authors. There's no validation, that I can see, so articles with Chris as co-author pop up from time to time.

Someone should ban that dork.

Apparently, it is a feature of the article submission wizard: you can specify a co-author for your article. Anyway, looking at the article itself and several posts from the guy, it seems that he didn't totally understand some basic knowledge of how to behave correctly on forums...

Windows Live Hotmail, Rediffmail and similar web email services support something called 'Multiple Identities' where the From field can be prefilled with a different email address. However, before you add an additional address, an email verification is sent to the address you are trying to add. I think, something similar to that, when a co-author is mentioned in the article, an email should go to the user for his 'Authorization'.

Prehaps Chris could add something to the site to disable Co-Authors until some kind of Authorisation system is set in place?

Or as an interim measure, multiple author articles should be restricted through submit (at) codeproject.com channel.
