Battlestar Galactica S04E03

Any Galactica fans out there?...the season opener was pretty good...kinda wondering where they are going after this though.
It's the only thing I really look forward to on TV. Too bad it's the last season.

Please don't spoil it. We don't get to see it until next Tuesday in the UK.

They are supposedly working on a new show called 'Caprica' that will deal with the first Cylon war. Mostly, it's the people involved with the show now want to move on to other projects. Gonna miss them when this season ends. Especially Tricia Helfer :)

I'm older so I liked the original. Can't get in sync with the new one.

I've seen both, and the 2nd one is better by such a wide margin that you would be hard-pressed to mention anything good about the original series that didn't include the phrase "they canceled the series".

That was a dog, and it's name was "Boxie". It was almost as if they were describing a Volvo rather than naming a fake dog...

The writing and the acting were so bad the special effects couldn't make up for it. While this one does have a tendency to worry too much about who's-screwing-who this week, it's still pretty cool.

The season opener was terrible. The cliffhanger they left with was poorly resolved, the actors were definitely just going through the motions rather than being really engaged, which I chalk up to having a hiatus due to the idiotic writers strike, and the whole production/directoring of the opener was poorly done. The whole "ethos" of BSG was lacking, from the acting down to the camera jiggles and wierd angles and even the sound track. It reminds me of what happens when you pick up an incomplete software project a year after letting it gather dust. BSG definitely needs to vacuum off the cobwebs! Marc

I bet I'm even older and I got a kick out of the original (even though Jimmy Carter interrupted the premiere with some nonsense about the Camp David Accords ;) ) but this show is knock your socks off good! It's 9:21 p.m. EDT right now which means I have 40 minutes to episode 3 - eat your hearts out, Brits. ;P

You have some valid points. Maybe it's being in a BSG-starved state for so long that I'm happy with anything that they put out. A friend of mine knows Alessandro Juliani (the guy that plays Gaeta) ...he seems pretty down on the whole thing like he's glad it's ending. Update: note to self: stay away from the keyboard while drinking beer...
