The person's attitude stems from your own bad attitude. If you're going to help someone, do it with a smile and move on, like Naveen did just before you. If you instead choose to berate the poster, don't expect a kind reply. No one's forcing you to answer questions on the boards so if the question seems silly to you, let someone else (like Naveen) take it. You can work on the ones you deem appropriate. That's what I would do.

What I had not mentioned was, this isn't the first time it is happening. She's been asked to read a book or articles, but she completely ignores it every time. But then I'd agree with you. I always had the option to ignore it. :)

This happened to me last week. And just like you, when I apologized I got voted down. But we have had a deluge of idiots lately and I personally want to know about them if they are appearing in forums I don't normally visit so I know whom to avoid.

That's bad. I know how that feels. What bothered me was, this is not the first time she asked something like that. It's been happening for a while and last time I remembered, she was asking around what does a dialog based application mean. :wtf:
