I wish there was a way to specify that a project you select to open would be opened in a new instance of Visual Studio.

Windows hook, WM_COMMAND menu, new process with command line?

You can do "Open folder in Windows Explorer" and double-click the .csproj (or .sln), although a one-shot VS2008 operation would be better. Not awake yet: This refers to projects within a multi-project solution, and not a top level "Open new instance" function (which is what I think you were referring to). /ravi

I have a folder of shortcuts to SLN files, and when I double-click on the shortcut, I get a new instance of VS. :) Very helpful, since I'm often in several solutions at once--server, schema designer, form designer, sometimes the report designer. Marc

Not a perfect option but you can hold [Shift] while opening the project and it will open a new instance of VS.NET. Kalvin
