dagnabbit!! Between you and Paul, I am getting desperate here.... first free coffee, now chillies! I need to get home early and break into the special stash of chilli... working in the desert means miles away from decent chilli and coffee! :omg:

If it'll help I'm going to be visiting an out of town friend over a long weekend in about a month. The menu for arrival on Friday is his competition grade WMD chili. I think the timing's a bit of a mistake since we're not leaving till sunday night/monday morning. Two years ago he made a weaker version (couldn't find his hottest peppers in the freezer) the last full day we were there. It didn't pass until the middle of the drive home. IIRC the quickymart I stopped at (couldn't find a mcdogfoods) ended up being condemned a few weeks later. OTOH maybe he's trying to gas some of his wifes 2 dozenish cats. :omg:

Aw! Allow me to proffer you a habanero... ;) Slightly OT, but one of our two chilli plants (a Thai Sun) looks like it's about to burst into fruit for the summer at the moment - there's lots of new growth. That said, although the other one (a Numex Twliight) produced a handful of fruit a couple of weeks ago it currently has virtually no leaves on it at the moment. That's not good - and the opposite of what we expected earlier this year when it seemed to be doing OK and the Thai Sun was struggling. I've heard chilli plants are tricky to get through the winter, though so I shouldn't be surprised.

Not so much. Some people find the southern accent quaint, but my mom grew up in Georgia, then moved north. She lost her accent except when she yelled at the kids. Then we didn't know if to be scared or laugh.

You, Sir or Madam, are the idiot.  How can you just jump in and call someone respected here an idiot and expect any kind of recognition, except disdain, for your assertions?

Well IMHO, by keeping that ridiculous list, she's rapidly losing any respect from me that she might once have had.

You don't realize how many toes you're stepping on do you? Brady is a great guy, Leckey is a really smart girl with lots of respect going her way because she earned it and what's more she's not afraid to give you (or anyone) a piece of her mind. Tuck your tail between your legs and go home OR try to be a man, shape up your act and try to earn a place in the community.

My husband's brother spent several years in Park River, ND. As long as you don't overuse "eh" or "and then there" I can tolerate it. I guess I'm too close for it to be cool and unusual.

With all the rain we got this winter, Hatch should be blooming like crazy pretty soon. You should drive by there one of these days...

Imagine that you are hired to build a bridge over a river. The river gets slightly wider every day; sometimes it shrinks but nobody can predict when. Your contract says you can't use concrete or steel - the client only provides timber and cut stone (but won't tell you what kind). Gravity changes from hour to hour, as does the viscosity of air. Your only tools are a hacksaw, a chainsaw, a rubber mallet, and a length of rope. Welcome to my world. -Me explaining my job to an engineer

Madam?? You do know that Brady is a man, correct? All you had to do was look at his profile to figure that out. And to think, you're calling everyone else an idiot...

On the one hand, I get points for being brutally honest , but on the other hand, I lose points for - being brutally honest. I think I'm establishing some sort of weird equilibrium that kinda helps balance the universe. :)
