Groan at office humor
-
I was away from the office yesterday and someone, specifically a mechanical engineer, made a bunch of little sticky notes that he put over all C# book titles I have and wrote "Db" (D flat). How many of you have faced or created such humor? Tell the story.

The most humor I get in my office these days in my 2 year old son running through with his diaper off.
A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. In C#, exception handling is used to unroll the stack with the "throw" keyword. In Db, this is again made more visually intuitive with the following keywords: * throwUp * upChuck * puke * ralph * hurl These convey different levels of exception severity and can be used by your application to determine the size of the bucket needed to catch the exception.
You have to love Marc's humor :D

I'll let you tell him that. He isn't in today and I won't see him till Monday. By then I'll have quit groaning at how bad the joke was and have moved on to more entertaining ventures.

Prior to the Intel switch that would have been funny... now its just sad. Adding a Vista Compatible sticker to one would be just plain mean.

Not to mention factually correct.

I once changed the logo of our bugtracker web site to read "WünschDirWas" (roughly: Make a wish). Unfortunately, it was so close visually that noone noticed :(

My dad had that in his computer science classroom. "In case of emergency, break glass" with one of his nicer slide rules in the glass case. He thought it was cute. ;)
