My moving truck broke down. I finally had to cross-load my stuff into a new truck and then we were able to make it out. ;P

Or is that just a polite way of saying "I got stuck on a hot slot machine over in Laughlin and it didn't quit paying off for four days!" "Knock, knock." "Who's there?" "Recursion." "Recursion who?" "Knock, knock..."

You are not going to believe this, (well, you might but everybody else is going to think I'm kidding), but I broke down 5 miles outside of Nothing, AZ. That was the first time, then we managed to limp into Wikiup (sp?) and things seemed OK so we limped into Kingman. While trying to find a Motel in Kingman we broke down again. We managed to squeek into a Motel for the night and they towed us into Bullhead the next morning. The Hilltop Shell there is one of their repair depots. They fixed what they thought was the problem and we got under way but then the AC in my car stopped working and we had to get that fixed. After a night there we tried to get under way but the truck was having troubles on the grades out of Bullhead so we went back and told them the truck was having problems. They patted us on the head, (figuratively speaking), and told us we were imagining things so we shrugged and tried again. This time the entire cooling system on the truck shat itself and poured out over the highway. We went back to them in my car and did the "I Told You So" Waltz. :) They towed us back in and then cross-loaded us into a new truck. by then it was too late and we stayed overnight one more time. In the morning we got under way and the rest of the trip went more or less OK.

LOL! So, are you working? If so, where? "Knock, knock." "Who's there?" "Recursion." "Recursion who?" "Knock, knock..."

Hilltop Motors is well known here as the last place on earth you'd ever want to buy a car or have one repaired. Absolute rock bottom. The locals won't trust them to put air in a bicycle tire - a pity you ran into them.:( It sounds like a thoroughly rotten trip. A pitcher of cold ale and a few rounds of pool would've set you straight, and you might have found a reputable mechanic... remember that next time you break down somewhere! Most barflys are losers, but I've discovered that they do know where the reliable services are offered:-) I'm glad you made it safely out of town, though. So many don't! At least you now have a/c that works, now that you won't be needing it again:laugh: "Knock, knock." "Who's there?" "Recursion." "Recursion who?" "Knock, knock..."

--Niklaus Wirth (Inventor of Pascal)Great news! I'm still looking for work, doing a bit of consulting-type stuff, fixing PCs and helping small companies with their little networks. I've been doing a lot of volunteer stuff, and getting some consulting fees for helping a local charity get incorporated and registered as a tax-exempt org. I wonder how little groups ever do it, the IRS puts so much paperwork and repetitive crap in the way. It's educational for me, at least. "Knock, knock." "Who's there?" "Recursion." "Recursion who?" Too bad I didn't know how to operate with the Internet portion of my brain disconnected or we could have done exactly that. ;P ah well, life will mosey on, at least everywhere but Nothing, AZ.

Managing to cover rent and such I hope? BTW have you ever eaten at that Thai/Chinese restaurant there in Bullhead? The green building. I think it was called Darunees or something.
