I ran into this program from a link off of Joel On Software[^]. Joel calls it "The Command Line for the Internet" http://notesbydave.com/toolbar/doc.htm[^] I have been playing with this all day, if it isn't the coolest thing I have seen in a while it's darn close. :)

If you right click on the task bar, and go to the "toolbars" menu you will see something called "address bar". It does the exact same thing, and it was built by MS. :)

Ah, but you did not look and the actual feature set. This is a search widget that searches nearly everything. Not a surfing widget. (At least not directly) Or are you pulling my leg? :) I admit that my attitude about the google toolbar has always been that I would rather just surf over and do my searching directly. But this actually has a rather staggering list of fuctionality and seems pretty spiffy.

Similar functionality can be found in TweakUI for XP. But this rocks and is a lot easier than having to set up those associations. Good find!

Wow, I haven't looked at TweakUI in ages. I should go look just to see what it offers now. doshin wrote: Good find! Thanks, I am really enjoying it myself.

I've been using this for some time. Did you know that you can put any web page into a Taskbar toolbar? Right-click taskbar > Toolbars > New Toolbar Put the following into the Folder edit box: javascript:window.location.replace("http://www.codeproject.com"); Now you have CP in dockable toolbar. :-)

I actually didn't know this until I looked over how the search bar worked. I really dig elegant uses of simple ideas. :)
