I think about buying a new 3D graphics cards for my Athlon 1,2Ghz. Currenty I use a GeForce 2 MX-400 with 64Megs of RAM. It's enough speed so far, but I heard the newer generation cards like the GeForce4TI or the Radeon 8xxx series feature more fancy graphic quality like some Pixel shader stuff and so on that my card doesn't. So what do you suggest? Waiting for the next gen of cards, or buying a new one now? When I was young my mother told me to clean up my room, I told her -1!

I guess it depends on your game-playing habits. I have a GF2, but haven't been buying any games lately that require a powerful graphics card, so everything I have runs at 60+ fps. Not much incentive for me to upgrade. ------------------------------------------ When I was a kid, I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realized that the Lord, in his wisdom, didn't work that way. So I just stole one and asked him to forgive me. - Emo Phillips

Wait a month until the new ATI card comes out. It looks like a impressive card. The retail for it is targeted for 150.00 usd. So even if you dont choose to get the ati card, its low cost and appeal may drive the price of the gforce cards down.

You been the 9000/9700 series (ie: R250/R300)? That was just released last week. And, let's put it this way: it KILLS the GF4Ti4600, and costs less.

How could I post a link to a German site? How ignorant I am... Ok, after some searching I've found an article at DigiTimes [^] If you would like a translation of the original link, try babelfish [^]. It's really funny    BTW, according to demographics.asp at least 2.8% of CPians are German. And because I know Stefan is German too, I've posted that link to a German news site. The geforce 4200 128mb is the best bang for the buck right now. The 4200 has all the features as the top-o-the-line 4600 but is a tad bit slower. Todd Smith
