    Given the new disk encryption and such my guess is a bad HDD or MBR. You could try "fdisk /fixmbr" at the command prompt and see how it goes. But I believe you have a bad HDD or corrupt sectors. Totally a SWAG. But if you put a different HDD in there (if that's an option) do you have the problem?

    I will try installation onto a different HD, should be an easy one to sort out and spot. Thanks, James
