Hi all, I've tried to install the August release of SP1 for VS2008 on my Vista machine. It told me to run the VS2008 Service Pack Preparation Tool. While trying to do so it stops working after about 10minutes stating that there is a severe error during installation. Looking into the logfile tells about an error 1603 while removing KB945140. Virus scanner is off and I tried to run the tool as an admin. Any thoughts? jung-kreidler

You could look through the knowledge base on msdn. I ran the same tool the other day and everything was fine. What is KB945140?

Thanks for answering. KB945140 is the MS internal name for VS2008 SP1 beta package. I've found this in the MSI logfile. In MSDN I've found nothing. ;P Actually I'm stuck. Maybe I try to de- and reinstall the complete package. Regards, jung-kreidler
