I know, it's the little things that impress me - I just love these two little utilities, so I thought I'd share (I didn't write them, I just use them) :) Taskbar shuffle - I've got 36 windows open right now, and it's amazing how much I appreciate being able to move my task bar buttons around http://www.freewebs.com/nerdcave/taskbarshuffle.htm[^] SysExporter - I've always hated the fact that I can't save the results of a Windows Explorer Search, so I finally did some hunting and found this: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/sysexp.html[^] Hope someone else finds them useful. Just a note, I'm currently using them on XP service pack 2. I have no idea if they work on Vista, etc. Scott

It doesn't? Perhaps I'm looking at something different.

Can you? I don't know of a way in Windows explorer. I know you can save the search criteria, but I haven't seen a way to save the results. If you can, please instruct this poor idiot. :) Either way, it looked like there were other uses to the utility I mentioned. Scott

Taskbar Shuffle was great, but it only works on 32-bit Windows, and you can't set up rules for your usual windows. <shameless plug> So I wrote TaskbarMaster[^] </shameless plug> I'm currently looking for beta-testers. If you're interested, please email me :-D Nick

Interesting idea... I'm constantly shuffling Visual Studio's floating windows around because my work laptop may be docked, have an external monitor, or be completely standalone...having something that could save (and easily switch between) presets would save me a tremendous amount of time. Is this something you're looking at?

Ooh, good to know, since I intend on buying a laptop soon, and it will probably have 64-bit Vista. Thanks, Scott

Sweet. That's the one app I knew wouldn't work with my v64 install. WIll try at home tonight. Edit: or i will if you can give me a copy. I'd assumed there was a beta for DL.

That's what I was thinking of. Sorry for the confusion.

No problem. You had me worried though that I've been missing something really basic for a loooong time.
