How does one get a new cord? These things come straight out of the back of the monitor!

You need to pop the case off. Be careful, there's quite a bit of juice in there, even when unplugged. As someone else suggested though, try wiggling it around a bit first; you may be able to get by.

Y'know, there's many times when I wish AIM had all the CP emoticons, but rarely do I wish CP had an AIM emoticon. Right now, I'm wishing for the nervous face that is produced with ":-/". In any case, the intent of that long and winded paragraph was to state that it sounds dangerous and now I'm scared that I'll fry myself. Oh boy!

Well, i guess you could take it down to your local PC repair shop then. They'd also prolly have an easier time diagnosing it if it isn't the cord. Or you could find someone who's color blind & sell it to them... ;)

David Wulff wrote: On another note, are you sure you haven't forgotten to take of your sun shades or maybe you have a yellow blind? Or alcohol? That sometimes makes colours a bit blurry... LOL. Sometimes I do forget the sunglasses, but not this time . What's a yellow blind? And I'm afraid alcohol access is restricted at age 14, at least where I live.

Shog9 wrote: Well, i guess you could take it down to your local PC repair shop then. Blech. They'd probably charge more to look at it than I'd spend on a new one. Shog9 wrote: Or you could find someone who's color blind & sell it to them... Great idea! I can imagine the eBay add now... "New Breakthrough Monitor Technology -- Especially for the Colorblind!" "Revolutionary monitor technology makes sure that colorblind people don't waste system resources on colors they can't even see! Buy now to speed up your system!"

The only blind I know of would happen to be something people put on windows to block out that malevolent evil yellow thing in the sky, and those only come in the "beige" and "light beige" variety. It must be a U.K. thing...

That is like saying burgers onyl come in the Burger King and Mcdonalds varieties! A blind is made of plastic or fabric, and as such can be any colour you want it to be.

You need to ask?! If you stretch a piece of red celophane across your window, everything in the room will take on a shade of red. Same thing with a yellow blind - which is why people have them in the first place, it makes the room seem warmer.
