Here is my list: -making kids -having someone to care for -having someone care for you -tax exemptions -good company Does anyone else dare to add? (no negative points please - that would be too easy) Thanks.

If you can't convince yourself to get married, then do her a favor: break up with her and let her get on with her life. It's obvious that she wants to get married, and if you won't give that to her, let her find someone who will. Jon Sagara Red Swingline Staplers

Besides the tax stuff you can get all other without getting married. Plus - It's easier to pickup women if you have a ring on your finger. (wonder if that is true:~ ) /Magnus

if u have a loving relationship, you could use marriage to solidfy it: 1- who will care for you 30 years from now? when u loose ur looks or money? 2- if u have a fight with ur g/f, being married is another reason to reconciliate 3- divorcing is not easier than breaking up. meaning that when u get married u you would ( or at least should) be less receptive to negative ideas of leaving/cheating ./....etc it amazes me why ppl wouldn't get married, but i guess my culture is different my parents got married at the age of 20, so and my wife and I we were all undergrads at our marraige time in US and canada and we are doing great,

If you need a list of plus points for getting married, then I don't think marriage is for you. As others have said, apart from the tax stuff you can enjoy all the rest without being married. (And in most cases probably enjoy them better) Michael :-) Time flies like an arrow. If you feel really insecure, and want to ensure that your partner won't leave you then getting married would help. It doesn't garantee they won't leave you but it makes it more difficult. Of course, if thats the case then it doesn't seem like the relationship will last very well anyway. Honestly, I don't see a lot of point in marriage. As a sign of commitment, I don't think its that great either, since a couple that stays together when they have no reason to shows more commitment than a couple that is tied together. I'm very happily not married, and have no real intentions of getting married in a legal sense. However, I wouldn't mind having a wedding... Kevin
