Why was your first thought to ask here instead of on the vmware player community forum?

So, in other words, you're in sales and marketing now?

No, just a painful bit of gas left over from a big lunch. I'm feeling better now. :)

I'm running the VMWare player & have an XP image, however the VM doesn't see my local USB ports. How do I make the VM see my USB ports?

You might check to see if USB hardware is listed in your VM machine hardware list. I don't know about VM Player, but in VM Server USB support is an option during setup of the VM. It can be added/removed from the hardware list after setup as well.. My personal experience has been that the VM machine picks up the USB hardware fine, but I have also read forum posts saying you had to plug into the USB after the VM machine was started. Perhaps it is hardware dependent.

It can be done by adding the line... usb.present="TRUE" to the *.vmx file
