Dewd, you're barking up the wrong tree if you mean to direct that at me. Perhaps the forum is goofing up in telling me that you did?

Nope, the post was a reply at your lack of insight that Muslim is not necessarily from the Middle East. The sad fact is, you went back and changed the post to reflect your short-sighted prejudice.

Your foolishness does not know any bounds does it? You constantly amaze me with how far beyond what is considered the normal bounds of foolishness are. By the latest count, it would take 18 people, 3212 years to achieve your level; Of course, by then, you'd have left them far behind. Bravo.

So a change of 6% would eliminate a "massive" swing? That must be the new math I heard about. . . Christian, there certainly are people who worship at the shrine of St. Obama, but most of them would have been quite content serving as acolytes of St. Hilary as well. The "massive swing" voters were, in large part responding to their deep discontent with Bush, and operating in line with a fine old American tradition called, "Throw dah bums out!" Certainly the Republicans who offered more of the same old, with an emphasis on the old, gave the electorate no real reason to reject Obama. The American press (and even more so the overseas press, I imagine) will not cover in detail - or even admit in some cases - that there is slowly growing discontent with Obama both on the left and on the right. The problem with having promised to be all things to all people is that sooner or later some little kid says, "The Emperor has no clothes!"

To be fair, it's the largest majority since at least Reagan. And in terms of congress, well how long has it been since either side had a filibuster proof majority in both houses? Use of the word "massive" does seem a bit ridiculous though. A significant swing (from a fraction of 1% majority for the Republicans, along with a small majority in the House and Senate, to today's sitiuation) would seem a more reasonable description than "massive".

Absolutely true, but not nearly as large as Nixon's 49 state sweep in 1972 - and we all know how that turned out. Or maybe not. Some of the rhetoric and plans going around now remind me of what was being said 150 days after that election. But at least you and I have memories.

Unfortunately yes but thats not to say all the Arabs here are in gangs or behave this way. The last few days 100's of Indian students have been gathering in the streets in one particular area looking for groups of Lebanese to beat up. It goes both ways. There is a Jordanian guy at work who lives near this particular area and was telling me he wont go shopping at night now out of fear. It's a sad situation. In relation to the police they are more than happy to arrest anyone. What they wont do is admit that this problem is occurring between two groups that identify by race and attempt to resolve it or improve the situation by involving the leaders of these sub-communities.
