Ooohhh! An Idea
-
The thread below about joining Chris and Nick for drinks in Seattle just sparked an idea! How about having a major CP competition where the prize was a air ticket to Seattle from anywhere in the world, a few days accomodation, and a guided tour of Microsofts facilities there? Maybe even a meet with the B.G. (Big Guy) himself. Now I realise this is pretty extreme. It would be expensive. It would have to be judged fairly and not on the price of the ticket. There would need to be a reasonable amount of time for entries to be put in. Maybe MS could front the costs for some 'free' advertising. I'm sure they spend way more than a ticket costs anyway. Cheers The universe is driven by the complex interaction between three ingredients: matter, energy, and enlightened self-interest.

Could it be a contest to write Asteroids in SVG ? How about a project that involves XML and C#, due tomorrow ? :-) Christian Hey, at least Logo had, at it's inception, a mechanical turtle. VB has always lacked even that... - Shog9 04-09-2002 During last 10 years, with invention of VB and similar programming environments, every ill-educated moron became able to develop software. - Alex E. - 12-Sept-2002

Sounds like a good idea. :-) Any cure for roids should be seen as an advancement. :-) Regardz Colin J Davies

You are the intrepid one, always willing to leap into the fray! A serious character flaw, I might add, but entertaining. Said by Roger Wright about me.

That's an awesome idea. I'm just trying to think of which bits of campus would be worth viewing. For some reason I've never been offered a glimpse of the server room for microsoft.com/msdn.com (I even promised I wouldn't touch anything). Failing that there's the cafeteria, Nick Hodapp's office, a very, very strange sculpture in building 6 and some carparks. How about a session where you get to be in a locked room with the Office developers (so they can't get out) and you have your selection of foam baseball bats and nerf guns? cheers, Chris Maunder
