I agree, the sentencing should be decided based on the laws in the jurisdiction where the trial occurred. But beyond that...

Not to me, he doesn't. And I'll let it go at that. [edit] Classic. One votes for saying I don't think someone is a fool. One wouldn't have thought that was such an offensive statement. But since I'm getting the ones, I might as well enjoy it... Just the sort of hypocritical behavior I'd expect from self-righteous sh_itheads who believe their favorite 2000 year old work of fiction should define everyones lives. Talk a big game and behave like an asshole - that's a good christian. [/edit]

Even more disturbing is that there where passages highlighted. By whom? For what purpose? Clearly the one cited was indicative of what they wanted to convey. I don't have a problem with the death penalty either but it's galling that they use their religion to justify the dealth penalty for one guy but then turn around and try to get convicted death row inmates off because they "found Jesus" in prison. Both cases in Texas.

Convicted murderer to be put to death because of the bible. See Here[^] I am not defending the guy, nor am I saying that the death penalty is incorrect in this case. However, the rule of law should be proscribed by man, not by somebody's imaginary friend or by the characters in a work of fiction. If he is guilty, he must be punished, if the punishment is the death penalty, so be it, but the influence of this propaganda upon the weak minded jurors is wrong, and to be upheld by an officer of the state, ie the judge, who is supposed to be divorced from the religious element is clearly wrong. What happened to the secularity of justice in America? Or is it ok to use it if you are Christian, but wrong if you are of any other or no faith? Hang the bastard by all means, but don't do it because some shepherds on a hill 2000 years ao tell you to.

Gray is a subjective experience (i.e., each user sets a threshold of what posts appear gray). What's gray to you may be blue to me. This is the "noise threshold" dropdown above forums.
