At one of my jobs, the servers were all named after terminal illnesses - Ebola, ChickenPox, Massa, Anthrax, HIV, etc...

It's too much of a hassle to change, but if I did, I'd use Remmington, Colt, Springfield, Winchester, Sharps, Henry, and Marlin before using any of the foreign makes...

The servers here are named after composers, so when I write example code, I use the names "Lizst" and "Brahms", but not necessarily in that order. You probably need to be English, to get that one.

APPL-W87472LV1C9 I didn't name it, IT did. They used to name computers after Irish islands but ran out and swapped to the above craziness for "asset tracking" purposes. Never mind that an asset tracker will work as well off the string "inishlar" as the string "APPL-W87472LV1C9".

                                cheers, Paul M. Watson.

We in our work named then according to dead scientists. My working Pcs are called Einstein, Podolsky, Rosen (The experiment :) ) Cheers

You have the thought that modern physics just relay on assumptions, that somehow depends on a smile of a cat, which isn’t there.( Albert Einstein)

Well many more in that case! Sedna and Makemake, Eris and Ceres, not to mention Cruithne Then there are all the fictional ones...Vulcan, Gallifrey, Dune etc.

I suppose that apples might start to rise tomorrow, but the possibility does not merit equal time in physics classrooms. Stephen J Gould
