Working abroad

a pleasure. From a backpacking point of view you may also want to check out [Clickety] - don't be put off by the SA/NZ/Auz stuff - it applies to any young traveller :-D

It is a definite no-no to run BITMAP as a user command. Your nose will grow, your lawn will die, your hair will fall out, and your first-born will marry an aardvark. Shame on you!Megan Forbes wrote: don't be put off by the SA/NZ/Auz stuff - it applies to any young traveller Ok , thank your for the mag, it looks interesting :-) Cheers,Joao Vaz And if your dream is to care for your family, to put food on the table, to provide them with an education and a good home, then maybe suffering through an endless, pointless, boring job will seem to have purpose. And you will realize how even a rock can change the world, simply by remaining obstinately stationary.-Shog9

If you would like to check out your chances for working in England check out www.gojobsite.co.uk www.jobs.co.uk www.cwjobs.co.uk (Computer Weekly's site) There are literally hundreds of dev jobs listed on each of these each day. When you see the amount you will struggle to believe that getting jobs in IT is hard at the moment - the problem is there are even more people applying for these jobs. You can email the agencies, but don't feel bad if you don't get a reply. I found the best way to look for a position in the UK is to come here, then use these sites. Email your cv for the particular position, wait 20 minutes, then phone the person concerned. If you don't bring attention to your cv like that yours will just be part of a sea of emailed cv's sitting in their inbox. Another great thing about those sites - you will get some idea of what your skills are worth here. HTH :)

Portugal is a EC member :-) Wim Jans wrote: I officially live in (freezing) Belgium but I'm doing a project in Curacao - Netherlands Antilles and I can only say that it's nice to work abroad for a few months.
