...that understands the binary language of moisture vaporators* Not really, of course. What I really need is a recommendation on the sine qua non of HLSL references in dead-pulped-tree format. Any recommendations from personal experience? * Never understood why Uncle Owen need a droid for that, given that the entire language reference for the binary language of moisture vaporators consists of two lines: 1 = Vaporate moisture. 0 = Don't vaporate moisture. Easy.

Nah, it's an early form of ASCII encoding... And of course, since it's Star Wars, even a moisture vaporator has a personality... It would go something like this: What C3PO Says: "Sir, the vaporator wishes for you to adjust its carbon manifold down by ten percent." What C3PO Actually Heard: "Hey, golden boy! You tell that sniveling little #(*%&@# that if he doesn't cut this manifold down, I'm gonna #%*(&# his #()*%&# with #%(*)& #^(*&@ and #%*&@#)%& his wife's &&@#(*# with a %&)(@#!" So you see, there's a little translation to be done.

Can't help - all the stuff I found was online. I'll be curious what others recommend. Anything specific you're trying to do?

I want to do a nice exploding firework effect; there are a few things online which do that sort of thing, but I'd rather re-invent the wheel (quite probably coming up with something inferior and square shaped) in this case to engage the grey matter and learn something.

Ahh, sorry, that's beyond where I went with it, I mainly just did shaders for image manipulation.

If you're looking to learn how to create shaders, rather than a recipe book of precreated ones, this one's[^] pretty good.

Sorry, I'm far too lazy to write another text-to-binary converter right now... I do that now and then, but I never seem to actually save it for later use.

I always had the same objection, because my moisture vaporator included only a simple Boolean switch, which popped out when the moisture vaporisation level was at apogee. Maybe the more complex models have a two-way switch, which maintains the maximised moisture vaporisationment level -- for decorative mural facade disencollagement, and the like.
