So, I just got the CodeProject offer for the LearnDevNow subscription for a years worth of access to the training videos for $99. This is tempting, although I'm watching the WPF sample which was done before (or shortly after) release of 2008 and mentions Silverlight is coming out soon so it's making me wonder about the relevance. Does anybody have any experience with this company, would you say the videos are worth the money or would you steer clear?

I cannot say for about the company or anything like that, but back when I was looking at them, .NET was still somewhat new and they moved heavily to VB demos so I left and have not been back. Do not know what they have today though. With all the video demos on the web today though, are they really needed? I deal mostly in Internet facing apps now, so maybe there are just more in the line available.

I'm a "visual" learner. I like watching screencasts of developers tutorials because somehow I find they settle in more. However, if these videos are slightly dated and the information they present isn't of a high enough standard (something I can't gather from a dated WPF presentation) then maybe I won't learn much.

Personally I don't like videos for programming stuff - I'd *much* rather read. But for things like 3D programs which are visual in and of themselves, I find videos really helpful.

I find more of my videos from Channel 9, Silverlight.net, Asp.net and one other site that is not coming to mind at the moment. It is easier for me to learn by videos also if they are clear enough. Really like it if they have a good example. I read too much as it is, so I do not get into books on technology much :)
