Well, thats more a comment you should direct at my detractors since clearly THEY cant ignore it thought they feign disinterest in it. Of course I chose to 'not ignore' it since its a topic that I find relatively interesting. How that is hypocrisy I dont know.

Christian, when you state "then catching a plane that was going to fly anyhow, in order to meet to discuss ways to control it, would make perfect sense." you obviously arent aware that planes use more fuel when more heavilly loaded. It's to do with angle of attack. And as for your question about offsetting, are you serious? Are you really happy that your tax money is being spent this way? Its your country after all. Marc "As the 64 flights, the article says 93 people. So, the per person cost of about 6000 seats comes out to about $160. First class? That's a heck of a lot cheaper than what I pay for coach on most Southwest flights. Seems like a good expenditure, frankly. If people would only do the math, it would be pretty easy to see through the BS media hype." It doesnt state that all 93 staff went to all 64 seminars (not flights by the way) so your sums are invalid. The srticel does clearly state "The trips cost taxpayers more than $2.74 million in airfares and $1.6 million for accommodation and meals. The Government's special envoy on climate change, Howard Bamsey, was the biggest spender, racking up $229,000 in travel costs during 2009-10."

You were having this conversation several hours ago when he was awake, and you failed to mention it then. Presumably because the thought hadn't occured to you. That is fine, but to have a riposte 6 hours later is not showing you at the top of your game.

------------------------------------ I will never again mention that I was the poster of the One Millionth Lounge Post, nor that it was complete drivel. Dalek Dave CCC League Table Link CCC Link[^]

fat_boy having a thought (i.e. thinking) is a big assumption on your part. ;) Marc
